Characteristics of bearing steel.

1.contact fatigue strength
Bearing under the action of periodic load, the contact surface is very easy to attack fatigue damage, that is, the emergence of cracking and spalling, which is an important damage situation of bearing. Therefore, in order to improve the service life of bearings, bearing steel must have high contact fatigue strength.

2.wear resistance
When bearing tasks, not only rolling friction, but also sliding friction occurs between the ring, the rolling body and the maintenance frame, so that the bearing parts have been worn. In order to increase the wear of bearing parts, maintain the stability of bearing precision and extend the service life, bearing steel should have good wear resistance.

Hardness is one of the important qualities of bearing quality, which has an indirect effect on contact fatigue strength, wear resistance and elastic limit. The hardness of bearing steel in the use of individual to reach HRC61~65, the ability to make the bearing obtain higher contact fatigue strength and wear resistance.

4.rust resistance
In order to avoid bearing parts and finished products in the processing, storage and use of corrosion, bearing steel should have good rust resistance.

5.processing performance
Bearing parts in the consumption process, to go through many cold and hot processing processes, in order to satisfy the requirements of a small amount, high efficiency, high quality, bearing steel should have good processing performance. For example, cold and hot forming properties, machining properties, hardenability and so on.

In addition to the above basic requirements, bearing steel should also meet the requirements of appropriate chemical composition, average external organization, less non-metallic adulteration, external appearance defects in accordance with the specification and external decarbonization layer does not exceed the regular concentration.
